Project Overview
This large-scale spray-paint mural was commissioned by the Coventry Transport Museum to restore and revitalise their exterior metal shutters. The brief was to create a mural paying homage to Rudge-Whitworth Motorcycles, an iconic Coventry engineering company known for producing high-performance racing bikes in the early 20th century. The artwork depicts a historic Rudge racing scene, celebrating Coventry’s rich motor and manufacturing heritage.
The mural was designed digitally by Graffix Art before painting, ensuring accuracy and a strong visual impact across the full shutter width. Painted entirely freehand using only spray paint, the monochrome style was chosen to complement the vintage photograph reference and honour the classic era of Rudge racing history.
Completed over three days, this permanent Coventry Transport Museum mural showcases large-scale motorsport artwork and adds cultural value to one of the city’s most important historical venues.
A strong example of UK spray paint murals, Coventry street art, and heritage-focused public artwork by Graffix Art.
