Project Overview
This Brighton street art mural was painted on the side of Richer Sounds in the heart of the city’s creative district. The wall features two large-scale portraits inspired by Rastafarian culture, Caribbean identity and reggae heritage. I created the right-hand portrait and the entire background freehand using only spray paint, while the left-hand portrait of Cedella Booker (Bob Marley’s mother) was painted by fellow artist Guy Favela.
The mural includes the bold “Redi July 23” text element, produced as part of a cultural project raising awareness of Rastafarian history, African diaspora stories and Brighton’s growing reggae-inspired street art scene. This collaborative piece contributes to an ongoing effort to celebrate Rastafari iconography, community expression and vibrant public art across the city.
This Brighton street art mural now stands as a colourful landmark, bringing culture, creativity and visual impact to the local area.
